AB  - After ten years of Digital Audio, a review of its achievements and directions is appropriate. The pros and cons of today's digital audio parameters (sampling frequency, word length, others) for present and future use are discussed in terms of digital recording, digital processing, and the manufacturing of high-quality final recordings. The impact of high-performance DSP on digital audio sound quality is examined, and some new challenges are identified.
