Wigner Representation of Loudspeaker Responses in a Living Room

The Wigner distribution is a time-frequency representation which has proved itself to be a valuable tool for describing the direct sound field of a loudspeaker as measured in an anechoic room. However, the subjective judgment of loudspeaker boxes is always done by listening tests in a living room. The applicability of the Wigner concept to loudspeaker responses in a reflecting environment has been investigated. Three Wigner-based representations are discussed, two of which seem promising for practical use.
