Peak Transient Current and Power into a Complex Impedance

The theoretical relationship between broadband electrical input impedance and peak instantaneous input current and power is investigated. Specific voltage-limited, band-limited input signals and energy constraints are considered. A nominal resistance associated with a complex impedance is defined so that peak transient current can be predicted without transient testing.
