Simulation techniques are discussed, which would permit to analyze and predict exactly enough the performance of sound sources in small and medium-sized rooms, below the Schroeder frequency. The acoustic impedance concept is employed for modeling the small rooms acoustic properties at low frequencies. A numeric impedance model of an empty rectangular enclosure with rigid, but sound absorbing walls (five of them), is described and some examples of its uses are shown. An attempt is made to correct some traditional misinterpretations of the in-room performance of low-frequency sound sources, and a rather unconventional way of describing acoustic properties of rooms below the Schroeder frequency is proposed.
