A Practical and Easy to Use Removable Disk Audio Editor

The majority of the current generation of digital audio computers are based on large and expensive computer systems with difficult user interfaces. A practical and relatively inexpensive audio computer will be discussed that is believed to be applicable in all areas of professional and amateur audio. This audio computer, using data reduction, sophisticated error recovery, and an advanced real-time operating system allows the user to record and edit audio on inexpensive removable disks. Using available visual editing software, the power of the machine is easily accessed by even a first time user. The CompuSonics DSP-1500, the audio computer that allows the power of the modern desktop computer to be brought to the audio industry, will be described.
