Acoustic scale models are useful tools not only in the design of concert halls, but also in the design of sound control rooms. In a model it is possible to study in advance at relatively low cost the impulse response of the room and the influences of room shape, surfaces, and loudspeaker location on the loudspeaker response. General principles of modeling are dealt with, and practical matters, such as appropriate model absorbers and loudspeakers, are discussed. Practical results of a one-tenth-scale model of a music control room are given.
