AB  - A new criterion is proposed for the best distribution of normal room modes, with the objective of improving the acoustics of recording and broadcasting studios. A new system is analyzed for controlling isolated room modes to obtain rooms free of sound coloring. Applications are described, and the criterion is compared with others. A simple computer program performs the calculations.
