Noise reduction systems abound these days, but all are expensive, patented, or hard to build. I will describe a compandor for noise reduction which can easily be built by anyone with readily available IC`s at low cost. The system is suitable for use with tape recorders, bucket brigade delay lines, digital audio delay lines, and transmission systems.
