Sound Reinforcement Systems in Early Danish Churches

Aspects concerned with intelligibility and naturalness in churches with long reverberation time, large volume, long distance between talker and listeners, as well as blind areas produced by architectural pillars, are discussed. The solution which has been used in a considerable number of early Danish churches is the use of a distributed loudspeaker system with a special application related to various distances from the altar/pulpit to the listeners. Aesthetic and architectonic considerations.
