AB  - A new modulation system using a phase-locked loop was developed as a means of applying angular modulation to the carrier giving the CD-4 moudlation system a wider dynamic range. Basically, the two different circuits were designed and the modulators using each of the circuits had flat phase characteristics and good linearity.
