AVARIG 2026: Audio for Virtual and Augmented Reality and Immersive Games · Paper 510 · June 2026

Abstract

Pleyel.exe is an interactive and immersive documentary that explores a form of interactive documentary based on Gaussian Splatting 3D scans, enabling six-degrees-of-freedom navigation through a transforming urban neighborhood. The project draws on video game techniques to build a non-linear narrative in which the viewer chooses their path, questions, and the order of testimonies. Rather than aiming for full immersion, interactivity is used to create a collective and transindividual experience shaped by the audiences choices.
