Abstract

The string sound can add fun to driving and maximize accelerated immersion by delivering content. However, existing synthesizers have a problem with repeatedly transferring or distorting waveforms. In this paper, we propose a method for generating string engine sounds based on a wavetable synthesizer that can maintain the shape of string sound waveforms and vary the pitch during acceleration. The proposed method recognizes a vowel interval, and then repeatedly outputs the interval while changing the sound height. Therefore, it is possible to output string sounds while increasing pitch according to the acceleration environment, such as the engine sound.
