The development of an instrument for the monitoring of audio program material by a blind operator is described. Whereas the customary VU meter presents a visual indication to the operator, this instrument presents the same -ata by means of a keyed audio tone. The instrument is calibrated in VU and possesses the same ballistic characteristics.
