This paper is a survey of the problems inherent in record changer design and is intended as a guide to those working with record changers so that they might better appreciate and understand the engineering effort that produced the familiar turntable or record changer of today. It is also the intention of this paper to provide the basis for some insight into the value of various features available on present record changers.
