Convention Paper

Sound Recording and Acoustics in the New Dance-Music Studio of the Hessian Radio

Authors: Vølker, Ernst-Joachim

AES Convention 2ce · Paper M17 · March 1972

Abstract

The transparent recording technique, aiming for a separation of adjacent sound groups, demands certain acoustics in the dance-music studio. These acoustics are characterized by short reverberation times, the avoidance of first reflection, and the reduction of the sound level with increasing distance.: The effect of acoustic conditions of recording techniques and on the playing of the musicians will be discussed here.
