Several Problems in Musical Acoustics

Certain problems of musical acoustics are stated together with the reasons for their study. Such study, made possible by a grant of the National Association of Music Merchants, may concern itself with the cues used to identify the instrument sounding a musical tone, the elements distinguishing the tone produced by a chorus of instruments sounding one note from that produced by one instrument, and the musical environment. The use and problems of using digital computers are discussed.
