Determine by Literature Search the Methodology to Conduct a Community Noise Survey

This paper presents the results of a literature search to determine the methodology to conduct a community noise survey. What has resulted is determining that a wide range of methods are available to conduct a noise survey. These methods range from deliberate simplicity to the highly sophisticated. Essential electronic hardware and software is currently available and is capable of supporting any method chosen. Despite what may be termed a confusion of facts, the methodology has been determined. The methodology for conducting a community noise survey is composed of three elements, combined they form the methodology. The elements of the methodology are: 1. the physical properties of sound, 2. acoustics response of individuals, 3. the individual scaled to the community level.
