AB - This paper presents development challenges when building a Wireless Acoustic Sensor Network (WASN) using common IoT devices (Beagle Bone Black). Such system can be used for sound field recording, audio object separation, tracking, etc. In our scenario we focus on recording multiple sound sources in case of a mobile recording studio. Major challenges are related to audio streaming from multiple sensors. Therefore, this paper is focused on analyzing a set of parameters including synchronization accuracy, end to end latency, packet loss, and audio compression efficiency. Experimental results have shown that it is possible to achieve synchronization at the level of micro seconds as well as end-to-end latency below 10 ms using the Opus codec.
