AB - Psychoacoustic studies undertaken by the authors indicate that there exists in a full 360° sound field the redundancy of directional information which is not detected by the human ear. Through the transmission and reproduction of the 360° sound field information, two-channel stereo transmission media provide a sound field that sufficiently approximates the original. This paper describes the process, utilizing the -QS Vario-Matrix- as an example of matrix systems to achieve such reproduction.
