This presentation reviews both objective and subjective aspects of Trinnov Audio’s latest developments in the acquisition and reproduction of surround and 3-D audio. The topics of both 3-D and surround sound representation will be discussed along with the specific issue related to recording and reproduction of 3-D and surround sound. A particular emphasis is given to high spatial resolution microphones based on arrays having arbitrary capsule organization and to playback over an arbitrary speaker layout placed in a non ideal acoustic environment
