For a human voice, reproduced over loudspeakers, the principal acoustic cues to changes in source orientation are identified as being the level, spectrum and direction of direct sound and early reflections, and early reflection timing. Derivation of appropriate mappings between source orientation and each of these acoustic parameters provides a basis for the development of software allowing the perceived orientation of a voice source to be controlled.
