Subjective Assessment of the Optimum Number of Loudspeaker Channels in Audio-Visual Applications using Large Screens

This paper discusses the question of optimum number of loudspeaker channels for interactive audio visual application systems based on an object-oriented approach (MPEG-4), where visual content is displayed on a large projecting screen. Subjective assessments have been performed with varying complexity degrees of real-time room simulations.
