In a previous paper [1] we have proposed the possibility to synthesis 3D sound fields over loudspeakers taking distance coding into account. This approach is based on the reconstruction of the wavefront curvature in a defined optimal listening area. Here we will investigate the quality and optimization criteria of the reconstruction performance in an objective and subjective manner.
