Close control of QT at low-frequency resonance is required to maintain flat response in closed-box loudspeaker systems. Increasing the midband efficiency increases electrical damping. Overdamping and loss of low-frequency output may occur unless an optimal compromise is reached among midband efficiency and electrical, mechanical, and acoustic damping.
