An Interactive Multi Criteria Computer Program for the Synthesis of Loudspeaker Systems

The design of loudspeaker systems involves the satisfaction of multiple conflicting design specifications (frequency response, efficiency, distortion, damping...). The `optimal` compromise solution is obtained inquiring the designer`s preferences in the neighborhood of a tentative solution by means of an interactive program. The program in turn suggests a new solution which gives a compromise among criteria according to the suggested preferences. The loudspeaker and enclosure design is used as an example and the indicated criteria are evaluated by means of the Small-Thiele model.
