Virtually all acoustic behavior is dependent on the value of n, the index of stiffness in the equation of compression of gases. In a new system the value of n can be drastically reduced. A fluid with high vapor pressure responds in millisecond time frames by automatically evaporating or condensing on demand in real time. The compress/expand stiffness of this dew-point system can be less than adiabatic air by a factor of six or more. The theory and some simple governing equations will be given. Details of construction and test results will be presented.
