This note discusses the design of a simple biquadratic (i.e., second-order numerator and denominator) digital filter whose frequency response is nearly unity except in the vicinity of a preselected frequency. A tandem set of such filters has been developed and is useful as an on-line tool for single-frequency attenuation or boost for signal shaping and enhancement in real time.
