Travel to the conference venue
Underground (tube) - The closest underground stations to the conference venue are as follows. More information on the underground can be found here.
- Piccadilly Circus: Piccadilly & Bakerloo lines - Take exit signed Lower Regent Street and Eros and walk straight ahead, you will see the Duke of York column ahead. Cross Pall Mall into Waterloo Place then turn right into Carlton House Terrace.
- Green Park: Piccadilly/Victoria/Jubilee Line - Follow Way Out signs onto Piccadilly and head past the Ritz. After 250 yards turn right onto St James's Street heading south. At the bottom of the road turn left onto Pall Mall, heading east. After 1/4 mile turn right onto Carlton Gardens, heading south. The RAE is opposite you at the end of the road.
- Charing Cross: Northern Line - Follow Way Out signs to ground level, cross Strand by Pedestrian crossing, turn left and walk ahead along Cockspur Street which leads into Pall Mall. Turn left into Waterloo Place and then right into Carlton House Terrace. Bakerloo Line - Follow Way Out signs and at top of escalator, turn left and take the subway exit signed Cockspur Street and The Mall. On exiting the subway, walk ahead along Cockspur Street which leads into Pall Mall. Turn left into Waterloo Place and then right into Carlton House Terrace.
- Embankment: District & Circle Lines - Follow Way Out to Villiers Street. Walk up to the Strand, turn left and keep Charing Cross station on your left. When you reach Trafalgar Square, take the third exit through Admiralty Arch into the Mall. Further along on the right take the steps into Waterloo Place and then left into Carlton House Terrace.

Travel into London
From Heathrow
There are various options for travel to London depending on your budget and timescales.
- Underground - Underground trains operate every 5 minutes into central London with a journey time of approximately 50/60 minutes. Cost is around £4.00. More information can be found here.
- Bus service - a double decker bus runs to various stops in central London, close to major hotels. Journey time is approximately 1 hour 40 minutes and the cost is £4.00 single. More information about the bus service here and here.
- Feltham Railair connection - the 285 local bus service links Heathrow to Feltham rail station. From Feltham there are frequent trains to London Waterloo. The combined journey time of the bus and train is 1 hour and 40 minutes. The cost is under £8.00. More information about Feltham Railair here.
- Heathrow Express - fast, frequent trains operate from Heathrow to London Paddington. The journey time is 15 minutes. A single fare is £15.50 and £29.00 return. More information about Heathrow Express here.
- Taxi - London taxis are available outside each terminal. The cost to central London is £45.00-50.00 and the journey time is approximately 1 hour. More information about taxis here.
From Gatwick
There are various options for travel to London depending on your budget and timescales.
- Bus service - a regular service, number 025, runs from Gatwick to London Victoria Bus Station. Journey time is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes and the cost is from £5.00 single and £10.00 return. More information about the bus service here and here.
- Train - there are regular trains from Gatwick airport to central London. The Gatwick Express runs non-stop to London Victoria and takes approximately 30 minutes. More information can be found here. Slower but cheaper train services are also available from Gatwick station to central London. For instance it takes approximately 50 minutes from Gatwick to London Waterloo, changing at Clapham Junction, or 35 to 40 minutes direct to London Victoria with South Central trains. - Taxi - Chauffeur driven car hire services are provided by the airports' official concessionaire, Checker Cars. There is a quoted fare system and taxis can be pre-booked with fares paid in advance by cash or credit card, or at the end of the journey. Checker Cars has a booking office in the North Terminal arrivals area and a booking office in the northern entrance building leading to the South Terminal. More information about taxis here.
From Stansted
There are various options for travel to London depending on your budget and timescales.
- Bus service - two regular services run to London. The A6 connects Stansted Airport with London Victoria - Central London via Golders Green, Finchley Road Underground Station, St Johns Wood, Baker Street, Marble Arch and Hyde Park Corner. This leaves Stansted every 20 minutes or so but takes 1 hour 45 minutes to London Victoria. More information can be found here. The A7 connects Stansted Airport with London Liverpool Street and Victoria and leaves every 30 minutes or so, taking a similar time to the A6. - Train - there are regular trains from Stansted airport to central London. The airport railway station is situated below the terminal building. Train tickets can be purchased at the railway station. The Stansted Express is a fast way from Stansted Airport to London Liverpool Street Station, with trains departing every 15 or 30 minutes.
