Student Delegate Assembly - Part 1 (SDA I)
Saturday, May 12 14:00-16:00 hr Room E
The first Student Delegate Assembly (SDA) meeting is the official opening of the convention's student program. The activities of the SDA and the student sections will be discussed and the student program for the convention is presented. Nominations will be made for the new Europe/International Regions SDA chair and vice-chair. The results of the elections will be announced at the second SDA meeting (SDA II). At this first meeting also the entries for the Recording- and Poster Awards sessions will be collected.

Surround Tutorial
Saturday, May 12 16:00-18:00 hr Room E/F
The purpose of this tutorial session is to give audio students a broad overview of the whole field of surround, going from recording to mixing to storage and finally to reproduction. Experts from the field will explain the fundamentals and will use sound examples to clarify things. Of course there will be plenty room for discussion as well. Although this session is part of the student program, it will certainly be of interest to non-student visitors as well, who are therefore also welcome to attend!

Education Fair
Sunday, May 13 11:00-13:30 hr Ruby Lounge
The Education Fair is the perfect opportunity for representatives of educational institutions to present themselves to potential new students and to share experiences with people from other schools. The session is a tables fair, where each school is given a table to present their promotional material and visitors can take their time to walk around and talk in an informal way. The fair is open both to convention participants and non-participants.

Young meets Old
Sunday, May 13 14:00-15:30 hr Room E
Audio veterans will share their experiences with the students.

Poster Session
Sunday, May 13 15:30-17:00 hr Room E/F
What the recording awards are for music recording students, the poster awards are for students of technical institutions. Students doing innovative research in the field of audio will have the opportunity to present their recent works in the form of a poster, which will be on public display in the student center during the whole convention. In this session, all participants will be given the opportunity to give a short presentation in public about their work. Also, there will be plenty of opportunity for interested people to discuss the work with the authors. A jury of experts from different areas of audio research will evaluate the work during the convention and will discuss it with the participants in this session. At the closing meeting of the convention (SDA II) awards will be presented to outstanding participants.

Education Forum
Monday, May 14 11:00-12:30 hr Room E
The Education Forum is a discussion meeting open to all educators, students and any parties interested in the mission of the AES Education Committee, such as manufacturers or members of the press. Don Puluse, chairman of the Education Committee, will host this session and will listen to the concerns of the International Educators.

Recording Awards
Monday, May 14 13:30-17:30 hr Room E/F
Also at this convention student members of the AES will have the opportunity to submit their own recordings for evaluation by a panel of experts. After all recordings have been collected at the first SDA meeting (SDA I) a pre-selection will take place. The selected participants will then be invited to present their recording in public at this session and the judges will comment on them. At the closing session of the convention (SDA II) awards will be presented to outstanding participants.
New this year is the opportunity to also submit surround (5.1 discrete) recordings!
