Abstract
This preliminary AES Technical Document introduces recommendations for managing audio loudness in Over-the-Top Television (OTT) and Online Video Distributor (OVD) services. Published while a comprehensive recommendation was still under development, it addresses immediate industry concerns related to loudness consistency, metadata, dynamic range, and consumer listening experience for streamed television and video content. The document also established the foundation for the expanded guidance later published as AES TD1006.
