Join us for a drink some networking and an informative discussion:
50 years ago the world waited for the event of the century. The Rumble in the Jungle, Muhammad Ali v. George Foreman, captivated the world even before the fight even took place. For days preceding the fight, some of the world’s best musicians gathered on one stage for Zaire ’74, a music festival showcasing some of the top black artists of the time including James Brown, Bill Withers and B.B. King, and the Fania All Stars. And the person who handled the tech for this event? Bernard Fox.
A highly-respected sound designer, audio engineer, recording studio owner, inventor, innovator, producer, teacher, and consultant, Bernard Fox has worked for decades thinking outside the box creating technology where there wasn’t any in place. In his own words, “When they said it couldn’t be built, he built it. When they couldn’t imagine it, he designed it. When they had a problem, he fixed it. When they said it couldn’t be done, he did it…” Bernie found a way to make his clients’ audio dreams a reality at times when live multitrack recording wasn’t as easy as it is today. Join us for this unique deep dive into the tech behind The Rumble in the Jungle 50 years later.
