AES standards project report – Methods for the measurement of audio video synchronization error

Project scope: to specify methods for the measurement of audio-video synchronisation (“lip sync”) error. Consideration to be given to test signals suitable for use either with, or without, specialised measurement equipment. In its simplest form, an electronically generated clapper-board signal may be all that is required. The implications of different camera and display types on the definition of synchronisation will be taken into account.
