Location: Bragg 174, College of Media and Entertainment, Middle Tennessee State University
Moderated by: Prof. Michael Fleming, MTSU Dept. of Recording Industry
The Spring 2024 Tech Talk series continues this Thursday with informal discussion, demos and Q&A. Each talk is focused on a separate topic related to a theme, which for this term is "audio signals and interfacing." You can come to one or as many talks as you like. There are no course requirements—both pre- and post-candidacy RIM students, M.F.A. candidates and non-majors are welcome.
Topic for Feb. 1st: “What is TIME?”
What is time, how do we measure it, and why should we care? The coordination of conversion, processing, recording, reproduction and transmission in modern digital media and communication systems relies on answers to the questions "how long is a second?" and "what time is it now?"
Stay tuned for future sessions on Feb. 8, 15, 22 and 29.
