Report of the meeting of the SC-03-12 Working Group on Forensic Audio, held online, 2024-05-21.

SC-03-12 chair Marisa Déry called the meeting to order.

The report of the previous meeting, held online 2023-10-11, was approved as written.

The agenda was approved as written.

AES-X259 Standard Operating Procedure for the authentication of digital audio recordings
The title changed from AES standard for forensics — Criteria for the authentication of digital audio recordings" to "AES standard for forensics — Standard Operating Procedure for the authentication of digital audio recordings".

Many members in the group felt that everything was debated and covered in the recent SWGDE paper, therefore we are redirecting our efforts towards a fairer implementation on SO-IEC-17025 for non-labs and/or consultants.

Next steps require us to read these documents and start a standard that will help professionals set up an SOP for their practice using parts of ISO-IEC-17025-2017-IAS that are applicable to smaller organisations.
