AES-X236 - IEC 62942 liaison, BWF
A new project has been created to manage liaison activities between AES31-2 in this group and IEC 62942 in TC100.
In discussion, it has been agreed that a universal BWFF shall carry the essential data elements described in AES31-2. It will also support an option to include a "ubxt" chunk containing human-readable metadata in multi-byte character format that in turn will support all international character sets. The 'ubxt' chunk will always be an addition to a conventional BWFF and 'bext' chunk, and not a replacement to assure universal compatibility.
No new liaison information
No new projects were proposed.
There was no new business.
The next meeting will be scheduled in conjunction with the AES 139th Convention in New York, NY., US., 29 October to 1 November, 2015.
