The AES Finnish Section organized a series of workshops and interviews at the AudioVisual 2011 exhibition in Helsinki. The AV2011 exhibition itself is the industry's leading and largest event in Finland and the whole Nordic region. Our workshops covered topics like Audio design for games, The changing methods of record production and Education for audio. Additionally we heard an interview of the top Nordic DJ about his views towards audio technology and three lectures about hearing protection and hearing aids. The participants were treated with interesting debate about Finnish schools offering courses about audio as well as a story about how the funny sounds of the world famous mobile game, Angry Birds, were made. Our stage for these events was right next to the edge of the exhibition so we attracted quite a bit of attention from normal participants, not just AES members, which made it a good opportunity to advertise our activities. After the exhibition we had an informal members-only meeting for continuing our discussions from the event.
