We started the meeting by answering our icebreaker question, "What is your favorite music video? Which one? If not, what is your favorite karaoke song?" We then went over what AES is, how to join, what the rates are, and the benefits that membership offers. After that, we went over our events and announced a new event where we will be visiting the MIM and Organ Stop Pizza on February 2nd. We watched a video about the sound system in the Sphere in Las Vegas, which showcased the special speaker technology that was used in its creation. Once that finished, we talked about subgroups. Our only currently running subgroup is Music Creation and Songwriting, which was run by Zaya Heap and now is in need of a new sponsor. We discussed our mentor program and the various events they run to help out students, and then talked about Women of Audio and any upcoming events for that group. We wrapped up by discussing our free plugin of the week which is Jacob Collier's Audience Choir.
FREE PLUGIN: Jacob Collier's Audience Choir
Instrument plugin recorded by Jacob Collier during his tour
Add percussion with claps, stomps, etc. recorded at a variety of venues
Record custom XY pad motions and add depth with polyphonic aftertouch support
