The meeting began with a welcome address from Emeritus Professor of the University of Patras, John Mourjopoulos, former Vice President of the GR AES Section. Professor Mourjopoulos welcomed the new Board and congratulated the new members, expressing his satisfaction with the ongoing efforts to renew the section with fresh members and emphasizing the importance of collective effort. He also provided a review of past activities, highlighting successful seminars and collaborations with other organizations in the field.
Next, the meeting focused on introducing the members of the new Board, which was elected on July 26, 2024. The President, Professor Charalampos Dimoulas (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki), Secretary Panos Hatzantoniou, and Board Member Nikolaos Vryzas presented the priorities of the new administration, emphasizing initiatives aimed at enhancing the technological and professional development of section members.
Following this, members shared ideas and opinions on strengthening communication and improving professional development opportunities. Proposals for future actions were discussed, including educational seminars and workshops. Particular emphasis was placed on organizing online seminars aimed at informing both new and experienced audio engineers. Seminar topics were suggested, such as the use of modern AI tools for audio processing, aligning with current industry needs and equipping members with up-to-date skills. Additionally, the prospect of organizing future AES conferences/conventions and summer schools was positively discussed.
