Last Tuesday, August 27th, the AES-Estudio Urbano Audio Meeting took place in the auditorium of the building located at Curapaligüe 585, Buenos Aires City. With a hall filled to capacity with audio enthusiasts, the AES academic talks resumed a cycle that not only promotes knowledge but also strengthens long-standing friendships.
The event was inaugurated by Christian Paladino, vice chairman of the AES Argentina Professional Section, and Ezequiel Kosiner Blanco, its secretary, who were accompanied by a warm welcome from Javier Asioli, Training Coordinator at Estudio Urbano.
The opening talk, titled "Digital Workflow in Urban Music," was presented punctually and energetically by Manuel "Colo" Cano, a young and renowned Argentine producer with a notable career that includes collaborations with artists such as Duki, Bizarrap, Maria Becerra, Swaggerboyz, and Rafaga. Cano, who began his career with Replik and PUAJ Records!, led the session with active participation from the audience, who voted by a show of hands to decide the topics to be discussed, opting for mixing and live audio.
Following this, Marcelo DePetro (Guerrilla Audio Store) and Patricio Baumann (PB Mics) took the stage amidst applause, presenting their dual talk titled "Microphone Techniques and New Developments in Condenser Microphone Technology in Argentina." Both manufacturers delivered an exposition combining theoretical concepts with practical applications, encouraging active participation from the audience through questions.
The closing presentation was delivered by Constanza Sánchez and More Gemma, who showcased "Producing an Acoustic Album: The Example of Melancholia Borealis." This presentation, which delved into the aspects of the award-winning production, undoubtedly sparked the curiosity of as many students as the building could accommodate.
The AES-ESTUDIO URBANO Audio and Music Production Meeting was a highly attended event that, given its excellent reception from the public, will undoubtedly be repeated in the future. Additionally, we would like to express our appreciation and gratitude to those who unconditionally support making this possible.
