Summary

AES Denmark had the privilege of hosting Dr. Rafael Kassier, Senior Principal Engineer at HARMAN Automotive, and Chair of the AES Technical Council. Dr. Kassier provided an insightful overview of factory-installed automotive audio systems and discussed the methods HARMAN employs to measure their subjective sound quality.

We were also fortunate to have Mr. Martin Olsen, a HARMAN Distinguished Engineer from the HARMAN team in Struer, Denmark. Mr. Olsen demonstrated the simulation of sound fields inside a car. Additionally, attendees received an introduction and tour of the Consumer Audio Lab Denmark facilities in Kvistgaard.

The meeting offered a valuable opportunity for attendees to gain insights into the latest advancements in automotive audio engineering and the innovative approaches taken by HARMAN to enhance sound quality in automotive environments. The presentations and demonstrations highlighted the complexity and precision involved in designing and evaluating high-quality audio systems for vehicles.
