Meeting Topic: 2024 Presentation of AES-TAMABA to the Community
Moderator Name: Gustavo Gonzalez
Speaker Name: Brian Aras, Federico Gironelli, Bartolomé Serra
Meeting Location: Buenos Aires
Last Monday, March 18th, we had the privilege of holding the first official meeting of the year through a highly relevant virtual encounter: we conducted the official presentation of the AES-TAMABA Student Section to newly enrolled students in the first year of the Technical Superior Career in Sound and Recording at the TAMABA Tertiary Institute.
In this exciting event, we began by introducing each member of our board of directors, composed of individuals highly committed to the AES-TAMABA community: Brian Aras (President), Federico Gironelli (Vice President), Fernando Castillo (Treasurer), Bartolomé Serra (Secretary), and Gustavo González (Academic Advisor). Then, we proceeded with a detailed exposition on the scope, objectives, and goals of both the Audio Engineering Society (AES) and our own Student Section.
This virtual meeting was a space for enrichment and collaboration that extended for over 120 minutes. During this time, we shared valuable conversations about ongoing projects (acoustic measurements, building a low-cost microphone set, assembling a PC for a home studio) and encouraged students to participate in the upcoming student recording competition to be held within the framework of AES LAC 2024.
We emphasized the importance of being an active member of AES with special emphasis. By joining our community, students have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a rich learning environment, gain practical experience, expand their network, and contribute to the continuous growth of the sound and recording industry.
In summary, the presentation of the AES-TAMABA Student Section to first-year students was a crucial event to welcome new members to our community committed to excellence in the field of sound and recording. We eagerly look forward to seeing the positive impact these young talents will have on our future and the industry as a whole. Welcome to AES-TAMABA!
