"AES Section Form Request"
Tufts Student Section forming 10-15 tufts students have reached out to Dan about starting a section.
Defining roles for committee members: we all agree that these would be key and very helpful for our section:
Sponsor relationships - to discuss: what are we asking from them and what are they getting in return? Malik talks about utilizing his time at the AES convention to linkup with potential sponsors. Dan brings up that he is now a distributor for focusrite and the potential of them sponsoring an event.
Venue relationships - need access to spaces that will host events
Membership relationships - student sections?
Graphic design
We discuss using the month of November open without an event and continue with New Alliance in December and to use the month to offline plan for events in the new year. Malik also brings up potentially plugging one in at The Record Co. in coordination with other orgs like SSBC as it is a space we could use without cost. We could do this either as an industry night or a separate co-collaborative type- event outside of our normal programming.

They give introductions.
We circle back to the topic of committee roles to those who have joined.
Rob Barkan brings up providing any help with outreach and fundraising noting the importance of seeking Dan suggests grant writing as a potential skill provided by a committee member. The committee shares insight in what they would like to see from AES events such as collaborations with manufacturers of audio products like izotope, sonos, etc.Tie in with student sections in scholarships and posting about internship opportunities with these potential connections.
Dan moves the agenda to the upcoming events - takes steps to include highlights about BAES members gathering at the NYC convention.
New agenda item for next time: What is a Social? (takes place at a bar or restaurant) What is a Networking Night? (take solace at an audio space, studio, venue, etc.
Do we cap RSVP on the next event? We decided to keep it at 100 especially due to the nature of the location being outside the city we expect lesser turnout than night at q division.
Transition to looking ahead with the committee - ideas for future events.
John brings up contributing to the idea we had for an event - skill sharing for business owners.
