Meeting Topic: Organizing Meet and Recap of Recent Events
Meeting Location: Zoom
AES Columbus is in action this Spring!
At our organizing meet, officers presented Google Workspace and how it can be used to help our section grow. Official officer and committee email addresses, easier-to-manage shared file access, and the many apps Workspace provides offer us a better class of tools for collaboration and communication. Special thanks to chair Lesley Fogle for the incredible amount of work she has put into setting up these tools for our section.
We also recapped members' heavy involvement in some great events during the last month. The Capital University Creative Arts Workshop on March 26th was organized by members Chad Loughridge and Neal Schmitt (and probably others; sorry if we've missed you!). Members John Esterly, Buford T. Hedgehog / Steve Savanyu, Paul Kavicky, Tony Barbuto (of McFadden Sales), and AES Capital student section members Liam Knoll and Dan Messersmith, presented or had booths at the event. AES Columbus Chair Lesley Fogle was on two panels at the Webster University Central Region Audio Student Summit (CRASS) on April 1st and 2nd, and the Ohio University Music Industry Summit, organized by Josh Antonuccio, was on April 5th and 6th.
Meanwhile, member Ryan Van Bibber won the TI:ME (Technology in Music Education) Mike Kovins 2022 Teacher of the Year Award. https://sbomagazine.com/time-announces-ryan-van-bibber-as-the-2022-teacher-of-the-year/
