Summary

The Bay Area chapters of AES and SoundGirls belatedly celebrated Women's History Month with a conversation among local Music Editors, Mixers, and Sound Designers who discussed their craft, workflow, background, and favorite tips/tricks/gear to attendees at this free online event. Originally scheduled in March 2020 (in person) before the pandemic caused everyone to shelter-in-place. Discussion topics included working remotely, skillsets one brings to the job outside of what one learns in school, using Pro Tools as a primary tool for editing and mixing, signal flow, client service skills, and the personal experiences of working with name clients. Participants included Pixar Animation Studios, Skywalker Sound, and Wilmer Sound.
