The post-production industry has been facing difficulties because of the pandemic, especially in terms of technical infrastructure and communication. Mr. Yosuke Maeda explained the challenges the industry had to face, from both views of remote recording and remote preview, and introduced potential solutions with his deep knowledge and experience as a system integrator.
In the presentation, new releases from NDI and Soundwhale were introduced with details as a potentially practical solution. The capability of numbers of channels and sync precision was the main interest of the audience. Although these examples were showed, Mr. Maeda repeated that getting over the latency of the internet is inevitable and only one-way communication has been put into practice. As the perfect audio sync is demanded in post-production, people would need to gain their knowledge to select the right tool for the right place.
