Officers discussed planned meetings that need to be postponed due to COVID-19. These include a tour of the Christian Science Publishing Society, network nights, and an event with Joyce Lieberman. For the time being, all in-person events are postponed. The committee will reevaluate whether in-person meetings are safe at the end of May.
Attendees also discussed ideas for more online events. Two events, "Room Mode+ Calculator with Michael Reed" and "Mastering Q&A with Adam Ayan" are already scheduled. The first three events we are focusing on creating next are a panel on acoustics with an emphasis on working at home, a panel on audio forensics and audio repair, and a remote mixing workshop, potentially with Joel Hamilton of Studio G. Zach and Jay will reach out to potential panelists.
Michael Reed described the AES budgeting process for the new officers.
Jacob announced that sales for the upcoming events with Adam Ayan and with Mike Reed are selling well.
Jacob also described the current status of Boston AES's website and webmail. He will be in contact with the AES webmaster to continue developing the section page, and he will be in contact with the domain registrar's support to activate GSuite for better email communication. For the time being, he has shared the direct login to access section emails via the registrar.
The committee tentatively scheduled executive committee meetings for the second Wednesday of each month for the rest of the year.
