The ninth annual seminar which started in 2010 was held in 27th and 28th September. The seminar consists of 12 classes which cover most of the areas of acoustics and audio technologies. In the seminar, professionals give lectures which should usually be learned in universities as special knowledge expertise. The titles of lectures and timetable are shown below. This year, a total of 65 people attended the seminar.
The seminar has one Master Class which introduces the latest technologies on acoustics and audio. It was entitled "Spatial Audio for Home", this year
In the class, Mr. Yasutomo Komori from NHK, Mr. Tomoya Kishi from CAPCOM, and Mr. Ryoji Makimura from Cygames gave precious lectures about their current projects.
Firstly, Mr. Kishi introduced an example of the latest game with 3D audio. This game was equipped with a ViReal system (reproduction system with ambisonics) developed by Yamaha. Secondly, Mr. Makimura demonstrated 3D audio game with Dolby ATMOS. More than 70 headphones were set up in the venue and real sound presentation could be experienced by participants. Subsequently, practical strategies for spread of 22.2ch system for home were introduced by Mr. Komori. Also, the participants could experience the practical effects of listening environment on the impressions of Spatial Audio by trial listening.
