Mikael Brodin talks about the film audio presentation
The December section meeting was based around a visit to Ljudbang which is a recording and production studio for Radio, TV and Film.
Head of the studio complex, Mikael Brodin, along with his colleagues, gave the attendees a detailed guided tour of the studios. Listening demos were arranged in the main studio with surround sound and then a comparison with a smaller production suite where stereo mixes are produced for TV.
Anders Olsson from Sennheiser gave a talk about the various new surround recording tools that are available in the Ambeo range as well as some applications.
Steven Liddle (section secretary) presented another application that uses a soundfield type microphone. When used in combination with GratisVolver and ReflPhinder from Catt Acoustic rooms acoustics and the direction and strength of reflections can be determined.
The evening finished with a networking mingle.
