Other business or activities at the meeting: AES Japan section would like to introduce Kazuya Nagae's experience and report about German Tonmeister program for Japan members to recognize their education style related with music and audio engineering.

Kazuya Nagae (Nagoya University of the Arts) introduced the current trends of music recording and broadcasting in Germany, both on the equipment side and production side. On the equipment side, with the development of stage boxes by MADI and RAVENNA, many channels of audio transmission channels had been used with high quality and labor-saving way on optical fiber / CAT 6.
On the production side, to introduce the three orchestral recording examples and broadcasting were discussed: 1) In Hamburg, NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra's live recording for broadcasting by NDR at the Elbphilharmonie which was opened in January 2017 after 10 years of construction, 2) In Berlin, Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester's session recording for CD at RBB großer Sendesaal by Pegasus music productions by Tonmeisters Florian B. Schmidt and Aki Matusch, and 3) In Dresden, Dresden Philharmonic's recording with a combination of orchestral live and small session at Kulturpalast Dresden reconstructed in 2017 by Tonmeisters Wolfram Nehls and René Möller.
Also introduced was the current education of Tonmeister in Germany. In this meeting, Tonmeister Aki Matusch joined as a special guest speaker. He introduced his recording done in Berlin. It was a rather rare occasion for us that the Tonmeister who recorded it discussed the techniques and the philosophy behind the recording. Also, he introduced his experience of Tonmeister education.
