Meeting Topic: VR/AR Contents Creation Using Unity3D (It's Not Only for Games!)

Mr.Yanase introduced one of the prominent game developping middleware, Unity3D, to the audience who are relatively unfamiliar with the area of gaming. He showed various games developed using Unity3D including the ones by students. It was a fresh surprise that even an elementary school student can create games. The presentation was followed by the use of Unity3D in various virtual reality and augmented reality applications including his own projects created in collaboration with academic institutions. He concluded that Unity3D is one of the salient options whenever you need computer-human interactions.
Mr.Kowashi explained the audio capabilities in Unity3D development environment. Although the current version does not have as much functionality as the commercial DAWs, he stressed that it has the capability satisfactory for audio related works when combined with the use of plugins and other middleware dedicated to audio.
